A Series on Understanding and Nurturing Social Development in Young Children
SESSION FOUR
Deborah Weinstock-Savoy, PhD, instructor
This session will explore the common ups and downs of peer interaction for children from infancy through kindergarten age: teasing, conflict, aggression, and inclusion/exclusion. We will review key points from bullying research that can guide our classroom interventions and prevent bullying from developing. We will focus on how to create a safe classroom culture that nurtures all children; how to support young children's growing ability to manage peer conflict; when and how to intervene when young children need adult help resolving problems.
