(GMT-5)

Event Description

Ryan Dowd
Chief Empathy Officer at Homeless Training Institute

Ryan has spent most of his career running a large homeless shelter outside of Chicago, Illinois. In addition, he trains organizations around the world how to compassionately manage problematic behavior from troubled individuals. He is a licensed attorney and author of the American Library Association book, "The Librarian's Guide to Homelessness." Ryan is ecstatically married (Krissie) with two fantastic children (Cameron and Hailey).

Some of the issues covered:

  • How to draft a "bag policy" (including sample policies and what NOT to do)
  • The different reasons people have too much stuff (Hint: The main reason has nothing to do with the stuff!)
  • Why your natural response is exactly the wrong one (and how to handle it instead!)

Want to receive weekly tips from Ryan on how to work with homeless, addicted and mentally ill patrons?  Sign up here.

Note: This is a “members-only” webinar. Please do NOT share this link outside of your organization!

A recording (with closed captioning) will be available on the SEFLIN NicheAcademy site a few days after the live event.
