Public sector librarians have a lot to offer the private sector. Between informational resources, database, trained reference librarians, space, programs and more, learn how your library can connect and collaborate with business owners in your community. This webinar will discuss outreach strategies, collection resources and program ideas. What do startups and library services have in common? More than you think. The attitudes and strategies used in the public sector can help libraries be more customer-focused, responsive and innovative.

This webinar from a librarian turned business owner will cover marketing techniques, sales strategies, business plans and other business-related topics that can help libraries succeed in the fast-paced 21st century.

Presenter: Carrie Rogers-Whitehead left the Salt Lake County library in 2016 to start her own businesses. Since 2017 she has been a business instructor at Salt Lake Community College and regularly trains in the corporate sector. A 2019 Utah Business 40 under 40 leader, she continues to do work as a library consultant and finds many connections between both industries.
