Regulatory Impact on Transplantation

This session discusses the OPTN and CMS regulations and requirements and their impact on the care of transplant patients. The session will impart an overview of policy development, from start to finish, as well as the expectations of a CMS Survey and the most common citations found in order to help programs be prepared.

This module consists of education content followed by a quiz to test the participant's knowledge of the subject matter. 

After completion of this course:

• The attendee will be able to identify how policy is created, and how to participate in the process
• The attendee will be able to identify the proper UNOS platforms for listing patients
• The attendees will be able to avoid common citations by CMS.
