Lung Transplantation

This session will discuss the indications and contraindications for lung transplantation, how to evaluate patients for lung transplant, how to evaluate for potential surgical complications, infections, or rejection, how to monitor the patient during post-operative care, and how to evaluate the discharge and follow-up plan post-transplant. Information will incorporate UNOS listing and allocation requirements specific to the lung.

This module consists of education content followed by a quiz to test the participant's knowledge of the subject matter. 

After completion of this course the attendee will be able to:

• Review Indications/Contraindications to lung transplantation
• Understand the donor selection and acceptance processes required for lung transplantation
• Review UNOS listing and allocation processes 
• Understand possible long-term complications of lung transplantation
