Animal-Assisted Treatment in Social Work
Animal-assisted interventions (AAI) offer valuable treatment strategies to assist clients in enhancing their lives. During this workshop, numerous physical, cognitive, emotional and behavioral benefits of animal-assisted intervention will be discussed. The presenter will provide attendees with information on types of AAI with various populations and offer specific treatment ideas for working with children through older adults. Practical knowledge of interventions and implementation with individuals and groups will be shared. Specific applications for treatment settings including mental health, forensic, schools and nursing homes will be discussed.
Learning Objectives:

3)Identify organizations to asssist practitioners in utilizing AAI
4)Explain AAI treatment goals and objectives
5)Develop strategies for AAI with various populations and settings.
Upon completion of this course attendees will earn 1.5 Category I Contact Hours.

If a registrant cancels more than 10 days before the event, a refund will be issued by check or credit back to your credit card, minus a 10% administrative fee.
If cancelation occurs less than 10 days prior to the event, no refund will be issued but you may request a credit towards a future training to be used within 1 year of the cancelation date. Call the Chapter Office (804-204-1339) to cancel within 10 days of the training. A request for credit may be granted at the discretion of the Executive Director in case of a documented emergency.
