EMTA SPECIAL SEMINAR: RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN EMERGING MARKETS ARBITRATION: CRISIS, CHAOS and OPPORTUNITY

This EMTA Special Seminar is aimed at both EM investors and legal advisors and will be led by an expert panel of counsel, arbitrators and third-party fund advisors.  They will provide analysis and commentary on how arbitration affects investments in the Emerging Markets, and will address the following questions:

  • Will investment arbitration in the EU survive the CJEU's decision in Achmea?
  • Why are claims of corruption on the rise in Emerging Markets arbitration?
  • Will the trade wars and political battles initiated by the Trump Administration affect Emerging Markets arbitration?
  • Will the crises in jurisdictions like Turkey and Venezuela spread elsewhere?
  • Amidst the chaos, will third party funders continue to seek to invest in Emerging Markets arbitration cases and awards?
