Description: Large-Scale Combat Operations (LSCO) represent a powerfully dangerous, highly destructive and brutally ruthless Operating Environment (OE) defined by high morbidity and mortality, low battlefield survivability and high casualty production for uniformed and noncombatant participants. On the battlefield of today and tomorrow, LSCO is and will be more intense and complex with multi-domain warfare, and the speed and veracity of conflict.
While LSCO OE presents the biggest challenge for ground medical forces to clear, treat and evacuate casualties, LSCO is mission survivable and winnable with modern equipment, training and leadership. Reconceptualizing the full capability of medical technology, autonomy and survivability is needed to modernize our medical battlefield force organization, training and equipping. Medical modernization is a priority LSCO component.
Following this webinar, attendees will be able to:
1. Understand the LSCO battlefield environment
2. Appreciate historical outcomes of LSCO medical battlefield operations
3. Assess and mitigate LSCO battlefield morbidity and mortality on the modern battlefield, including the role of technology, training and leadership.

Frederick E. Gerber, US Army Medical Department, Colonel (Retired), Senior Military Consultant, Thornhill Medical
Richard G. Fornili, US Army Medical Department Colonel (Retired), President and Senior Consultant, RHF Consulting LLC
