Be sure to join us on April 1-2 for AED’s 2019 Ottawa Parliament Hill Day. The event provides AED’s Canadian members the opportunity to learn about how federal policy effects equipment markets and your bottomline while gaining valuable political intelligence to help plan your business. It also allows industry leaders to influence the policymaking process and build relationships with leading lawmakers and government officials. You won’t want to miss the equipment industry’s premiere Canadian public policy event!

Monday, April 1

Political Climate Update and Advocacy Training

Members will learn about the current Canadian political climate and will be given key points for meetings happening the following day. Schedules and pertinent information will be distributed.

5:30 pm -
7:00 pm

Evening Reception

The group will meet in the lobby of the Chateau Laurier at 5pm.

Members will engage with elected officials, Senators, and political staff in a less formal setting. Beverages and light food will be provided.

Breakfast Roundtable Discussion

Members will hear from a senior member of government. Breakfast will be provided.

Meetings with Officials

Members will meet with Members of Parliament, Senators, leading public servants and political staff to discuss AED priorities for 2019.

11:30 am - 1:30 pm

Drop-in Lunch

Lunch will be provided for members to stop-in when they can between meetings.

Information Panel: Construction Business in Election 2019

Introductory remarks will be given by an elected official, followed by a panel of construction and infrastructure association leaders.

Informal Panel: Environment and Development

Members will hear from a panel made up of an elected official, public servants and natural resource sector leaders to discuss the balancing act between the environment and development.

3:30 pm -
4:30 pm

Roundtable Discussion

Members will have a roundtable discussion with a senior member of the government to discuss AED priorities and on-the-ground developments in the communities they work in.
