This 4-week online mentor training course meets the requirements to gain the PATH Intl. Mentor designation. Quality mentorship is a key component to achieving any level or discipline of certification. As PATH Intl. implements the CTRI process, having professionals equipped with the tools to recognize competencies and effectively provide feedback to instructor candidates through teaching hours remains paramount. This course will help familiarize professionals with how to structure an EAA mentor program, review how to perform to PATH Intl. standards and provide current PATH Intl. Certified Professionals with a continuing education opportunity while enhancing personal observation, evaluation and feedback skills.
After the completion of this course, PATH Intl. Certified Professionals will be able to:
1. Demonstrate and apply knowledge of the certification process and PATH Intl. Standards
2. Display diplomacy with mentee, volunteers and participants
3. Formulate effective communication methods with mentee
4. Demonstrate conflict resolution strategies
5. Employ realistic expectations for mentee
6. Provide appropriate feedback to mentee
Course Length and Schedule:
This is an asynchronous, four-week long course. The course will require approximately three to six hours of work per week, including reading provided materials, viewing presentations, engaging in online discussion forums and submitting assignments. Assignment deadlines will be spread throughout the week and students should expect to access the course three to four times per week.
You are expected to attend and actively participate in each of the outlined activities in order to receive credit for the course. There are no live or synchronous activities in this course; all coursework is done on your own time, following the deadlines provided.

Continuing Education for PATH Intl. Credentialed Professionals:
The PATH Intl. Online Mentor Training Course is eligible for 12 hours of continuing education toward your annual PATH Intl. instructor compliance. This is 12 hours total of continuing education hours.
Full course refunds are given only if a written cancelation request is received at the PATH Intl. office one week prior to the course start date. A 50-percent refund is given if a written request is received at the PATH Intl. office two to six days prior to the start of the course. No refunds will be provided once a course begins. If extenuating circumstances prevent a course participant from beginning or completing a course (family or medical emergency, natural disaster), a written request for a refund must be submitted to the PATH Intl. office prior to the completion of the course session.
Required reading assignments have been compiled and are used throughout the course. You are expected to read the required resources prior to completing assignments. Additional optional resources may also be provided at the discretion of individual course instructors.

-Our learning management system (LMS) is Moodle. To access the LMS, you will need an internet connection and an internet browser with a flash player enabled.
In addition, it is helpful to have knowledge to:
-Create and save MS Word documents
-Find basic resources on the internet
-Create and organize files & folders on your computer
-Send, receive and manage email
