The provision of comprehensive community services, including residential, for individuals who have been identified as dually diagnosed requires a blend of competencies, at a variety of levels, which must be addressed to assure maximum therapeutic gain, continued funding, safety for the individual and the community, etc. This presentation will address the myriad of practical considerations from four primary perspectives: therapeutic design; staff competencies, administrative issues and responsibilities, and evaluation of outcomes.
