This presentation will summarize the results of a large scale epidemiological study of psychotic disorders in first admission patients. The subpopulation of individuals with mild mental retardation and borderline intellectual functioning will be contrasted with a matched sample without developmental problems in order to identify special factors in diagnosis, treatment and prevention which will be of interest to the researcher and clinician.
