Author: Michael Beck, PhD, Babylon Consultation Center, NY and the LI Center for Psychotherapy, Syosset, NY
This presentation will focus on patients who are described as suffering from the narcissistic neuroses. These would be schizophrenia and the severe character disorders. We will briefly outline how the problem develops, and what interventions are appropriate for this group, and their rationale. To this end, the use of contact functioning, the object oriented question, and mirroring and joining will be illustrated and examples given.
