Merchandise Description

Dr. Jeremy Goldberg, MBChB, FRCP

Multiple Complex Developmental Disorder (MCDD) is characterized by difficulties in three core areas: (1) intense affective states, (2) social interaction, and (3) thought disorder. Investigators have argued that MCDD is a variant of the autism spectrum (ASD) (Buitelaar and van der Gaag 1998) or the schizophrenia spectrum (Kumra, 1998), yet they do not meet criteria for ASD or Schizophrenia. Affected individuals are functionally quite impaired; however, they are often deprived of the necessary developmental services – as their cognition is typically greater than the first percentile.
