Daniel Press practices primarily bankruptcy and intellectual property law. A magna cum laude graduate of Georgetown University Law Center, he was an editor of the Georgetown Law Journal. He received his B.A. from The Johns Hopkins University. After graduating from law school, Mr. Press served as a judicial law clerk for Judge Jaime Pieras Jr. in the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico.
Mr. Press, along with Brett Weiss, are the authors of the leading book on Chapter 11 bankruptcy for individuals, entitled Chapter 11 for Individual Debtors, a Collier Monograph.
Mr. Press practices primarily in the Bankruptcy and Federal District Courts in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia, as well as other U.S. Appellate, District and Bankruptcy Courts around the country. He is a State Chair for the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, a member of the Section Council of the Consumer Bankruptcy Section of the Maryland State Bar Association, and the Education Director of the Consumer Committee of the American Bankruptcy Institute. In addition to teaching Individual Chapter 11 Bankruptcy through Max Gardner's Bankruptcy Bootcamps, he is a regular speaker on bankruptcy and related topics at seminars and programs locally and nationwide sponsored by groups such as NACBA, the Virginia Bar Association, Virginia CLE, the Maryland State Bar Association, Minnesota CLE, and the Bankruptcy Bar Association for the District of Maryland.
Summer M. Shaw is a founding member and bankruptcy lawyer of DOLING SHAW & HANOVER, APC, a bankruptcy boutique law firm serving Southern California with its main office located in Palm Desert, California. Summer represents creditors and debtors in bankruptcy and insolvency matters. She is a fearless litigator and employs creative strategies to achieve exceptional results for her clients. Ms. Shaw started her career in 2002 at the Law Offices of George Hanover in Palm Desert. She quickly made partner at the firm Hanover & Shaw. The partners of Hanover & Shaw later teamed with Ms. Doling to form the highly regarded bankruptcy firm DOLING SHAW & HANOVER, APC.
Ms. Shaw serves as the President of the Inland Empire Bankruptcy Forum (IEBF), a division of the California Bankruptcy Forum. She was presented with the 2016 Honor Roll of Pro Bono Volunteers by the Honorable Mark D. Houle of the Central District of California. Summer Shaw is a very active member of the bankruptcy bar.
She is also a Professor of Bankruptcy law at the California Desert Trial Academy (CDTA).
Ms. Shaw is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in California, including the Supreme Court of California. In addition, she is admitted to practice before the United States Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.
