Ali Zein, OTR/L, CBIS - Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan

Inpatient rehab programs continue to struggle with getting pre-authorization certifications from insurance companies.  While rules and practices employed by the insurance companies change routinely, there are processes that you can employ to know that you are arguing the best case for a patient to come into the organization.

View this webinar to help you identify new ways to strengthen the pre-authorization process and the use of protocols/procedures to ensure approval as well as argue denials during peer to peer reviews.  This webinar will also guide you in setting up policies and procedures for your admissions team to follow to prevent denials and delays from happening.

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the operational processes implemented that improved the pre-cert outcome.
  • Discuss training implemented that improved the liaisons abilities to get authorizations for IPR.
  • Prepare peer to peer arguments on appeals.
