The session will provide a brief overview of the findings and recommendations from the OIG audit released in late 2018 covering services provided in the IRF setting. Guidance will be provided on proper techniques and best practices for facilities to ensure correct documentation and other potential steps to take to avoid similar audit results for individual facilities. The session will also address prior authorization of IRF services (as one of OIG’s recommendations), as well as AMRPA efforts to work with OIG and CMS to reduce the IRF admission error rate.
