Karen Urbec will demonstrate mobile-optimized web experiences on kiosk and user devices.
Users access digitized special collections to broaden their understanding of their environment. Archival correspondence contextualizes their experience of the museum and Miami history.

2.  Collaboration & Communication During Telecommuting

Dhanushka Samarakoon will demonstrate Microsoft Teams
This lightning talk will demonstrate the use of Microsoft Teams for internal communication and collaboration, at the University of Miami Libraries. The presentation will include the aspects of communication features as well as document management and project management capabilities.3.  Best Practices in Data Visualization.
Dhanushka Samarakoon is the Head of Library Technologies, for the University of Miami Libraries. He provides leadership, management, budgetary oversight, and expertise to develop and execute the long-term technology strategy in support of the Libraries’ mission. He supervises the departments responsible for the Libraries’enterprise applications, computing infrastructure, and Audio/Videov& event support. He earned his Master of Library Science from Emporia State University and the Bachelor of Information Technology from the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology.

Thilani Samarakoon will demonstrate R, Tableau
How do you help patrons select the right graph to represent data? Does it help deliver the story? This talk will discuss best practices in data visualization using R and tableau. We will focus on presenting correlations between data sets and the visual elements to optimize the dissemination of information.
Thilani Samarakoon works as the Biomedical Data Librarian for the Data Services unit at the University of Miami Libraries. She provides data services to the faculty, researchers, and students at the University of Miami medical campus community.

Vanessa Rodriguez  will demonstrate House Party, boardgamearena.com, jackbox.tv, Steam, virtual quiz nights, role-playing games, with Zoom or Livestream methods

Vanessa Rodriguez heads the Creative Studio, the UM library’s audiovisual multimedia labs and services. She provides instruction to the UM community in multimedia software, hardware, design, and emerging technologies. She is also the library liaison for the Interactive Media department, and a part-time Lecturer at the School of Communication
