Committees Leadership

A list of our committees is presented below:
Responsibilities: Members of the Governing Board shall perform the duties prescribed by the Bylaws and the parliamentary authority of the Society.
The Program Committee is responsible for the overall direction of the Society's Annual Conference.
The Awards Committee reviews applications and recommends recipients for Society member recognition awards; review current member recognition awards program and advise Governing Board regarding establishment of new Society awards and other enhancements; monitor the review of student posters for awards.
The Bylaws and Policy/ Procedures Committee is responsible for reviewing the Bylaws and the Policies and Procedures Manual of the Society and make recommendations for revisions according to established procedures.
The Communications Committee has oversight for all Society communications through e-blast, website, newsletters and SOJNR.
The purpose of the Development Committee is to generate non-dues revenue to support expansion of SNRS’ small grants program and other strategic initiatives.
The Finance Committee assists the Treasurer with development of the yearly budget of the Society and conduct an internal review of the budget at least annually.
The Grants Committee provides oversight of the Society’s grants program, reviews applications and recommends recipients for Society grants.
The Membership Committee is made up of the State Liaisons who assist in recruitment and orientation of new members; communication activities between the Board and members through data gathering and sharing with the membership on issues and items of concert; and collecting news items for inclusion in the Newsletter. The purpose of the Student Network is to: 1. Encourage and promote advancement of nursing research among student members of SNRS, 2. Promote the dissemination and utilization of student research findings, 3. Facilitate the career development of student members of SNRS, and 4. Enhance communications among student members and facilitate mentorship with experienced nurse researchers.
The Succession and Planning Committee is responsible to: 1. Plan, initiate and evaluate a systematic program for succession planning, 2. Relate succession planning activities to achievement of strategic initiatives, 3. Ensure that a slate of qualified nominees is submitted to the membership for election of Officers, Members-At-Large and Succession Planning and Nominations Committee, in accordance with Bylaws and relevant policy and procedures, and 4. Review nominations-related policy and procedures and make recommendations for revisions to the Secretary.
The State Liaisons are selected to meet the following organizational goals: A. To encourage membership in SNRS; B. To improve communication between the Board and the membership; C. To increase involvement of members in SNRS activities; D. To assist with collecting information from the membership on issues or items of concern.
