Learn about advertising, safety, Code of Ethics,  what it means to be a REALTOR, your roles responsibilities as well as the benefits of being a part of our association. Fulfills the NAR mandatory Code of Ethics and is required to obtain full REALTOR status. New Member Orientation must be completed within 120 days of membership application. Also satisfies your ethics requirement for the 2019 – 2021 cycle.

 

DCAR / WCR REALTOR Safety Event

September 1, 10:00am  Location: Zoom

1 hour CE credit.  Instructor: Dave Legaz.  Cost: Free

Dave Legaz, REALTOR® and retired NYPD Police Sergeant, will explain how real estate professionals can reduce the risk of being targeted by predators. Dave will discuss various predatory behaviors, and steps agents can take to reduce the likelihood of getting into an unsafe situation while on the job.

Aging in Place

The aging population will skyrocket over the next decade and the United States will have to

rethink how to deliver core services to this group. According to a survey from AARP,

approximately 90% of seniors, if given the opportunity would prefer to stay in their own homes.

This class will explore the financial aspects of staying in one’s own home, how to plan ahead,

the types of changes that will need to be made to make a home senior ready. It will also explore

growing senior communities and how to help your customer make good choices and find the

right home for them.

 

Understanding Investment Properties

Designed for the residential real estate professional who would like to understand Investment properties. Help your investors identify a good deal. Know the information necessary to list investment property and what’s a good investment for you to buy!

The who when where and why of Agency Disclosure. Who is the Broker’s agent? To whom does the Broker’s Agent owe fiduciary responsibility? You want to be sure you have it right! Role playing discussion, power point, and class participation encouraged. Fulfills the new DOS Agency requirement for license renewal.

 

What’s happening at the Closing Table? (TRID, Adjustments, etc.)

November 10,  2:00pm – 5:00pm

3.0 hours of CE credit. Instructor: Christine Jones. Cost: $40.

Your role at closing, understand the chain of title, abstract report , marketable title, closing statement, credits & debits, adjustments & prorating, calculating tax adjustments, RESPA, method of notice, HUD-1 form. The closing is the goal – know what is happening at the closing!
