Technology Petting Zoo and Technology Loans

The Technology Petting Zoo program is designed to educate library staff about emerging technologies so that they may answer questions and better assist patrons with using eBook readers, tablets, and other eGadgets. SEFLIN offers several ways for members to explore and practice with the latest devices.

Technology Petting Zoo On Demand

We'll bring the technology to you! Member libraries can hold an open-house for staff to get hands-on practice with all of the devices or with specific products. SEFLIN will deliver the gadgets to your library or branch, along with practice exercises, for a half-day of unstructured, self-paced learning.

With limited numbers of devices, sessions will be scheduled on a first come, first served basis. The requesting library will be responsible for providing meeting space with wireless internet access.

Loanable Technology

When available, SEFLIN will provide member libraries with a Technology Petting Zoo kit for a seven-day loan period. Each kit contains the requested devices, power cords and protective cases. The kits are intended for library staff use only, not for patron training or use. In the event of damage, loss or theft of a device, the library is responsible for the entire replacement cost of the device and accessories.
