About this Session:
Contemplating a major change to your library services or space? Curious about offering a new service? Or just feeling disconnected from your users? User experience (UX) assessments shift your focus and help your library service their community better by making sure that decisions are made to improve libraries for the people we serve, not for ourselves. This session will walk you through the steps to create and organize a UX assessment plan that suits your needs. Follow along with an idea if you have one!
Participants will learn how to:
-Identify what info they need to know to plan a user experience assessment and why they need to know it
-Identify their available resources
-Choose the most appropriate method to gather the desired information
About the Presenter:
Ruby "Rubes" Warren is a User Experience Librarian at the University of Manitoba, with six years of experience in UX work and a life long obsession with how people feel about stuff. She's always happy to chat about UX, games, or the latest Mountain Goats news.
