Ryan is the Executive Director of a large homeless shelter outside of Chicago. Author of the American Library Association book "The Librarian’s Guide to Homelessness" and a global trainer to libraries, police departments, nonprofits and other organizations on how to compassionately manage problematic behavior from troubled individuals.

Some of the issues covered:

•    The two times you should call the police (and the two times you should never call the police)
•    How to place a police call safely
•    How to work with the police when there isn’t a crisis so that everything goes smoother
