The Neurobiology of Trauma

This webinar will provide an overview of the neurobiology of trauma, the different types of trauma and how the body reacts to it. Library staff will learn the effects of childhood trauma, generational trauma and the impact of exposure to traumatic events later in life.  

 

Presented by: Beatriz De La Espriella is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who provides professional development and training surrounding mental health issues. She is a certified Trauma Informed Care professional and a certified Youth Mental Health First Aid trainer. Beatriz has provided training to school staff in areas of child abuse, suicide, crisis response and mental health awareness. Beatriz has worked with school aged children and their families to strengthen and manage their quality of life. She also has over nine years of experience working with the immigrant community, where she has completed multiple community trainings. Beatriz holds a master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Rutgers University.
