Removing Barriers to Great Service
Thursday, December 5, 2019
9:30 am - 1:00 pm
Hagen Ranch Road Branch Library
Palm Beach County Library System
Together we'll examine what gets in the way of reaching the people in our communities. We'll look at policies, practices, biases, space design, and anything we say "no" to. Then we'll break down the barriers one by one and create work plans to eliminate them and keep them from recurring.
Presenter: Maxine Bleiweis
Shifting gears from directing three award-winning public libraries, Maxine Bleiweis is working to keep libraries ahead of the curve. In her new chapter as Maxine Bleiweis & Associates, she is being called upon to speak on customer service, coach managers, and guide strategic planning, and incorporate innovative thinking in practices and design.
Bleiweis’ libraries were awarded 5-Star Status and were finalists for the IMLS Medal of Excellence. She authored Helping Business: the library’s role in community economic development. She was the 2015 recipient of the PLA Charles Robinson Award for Innovative Leadership and Connecticut’s Librarian of the Year in 2011.
