We influence others every day in our personal and in our professional lives. Every conversation is a negotiation and you can lead from any position in the organization. It all starts with optimism and setting goals. This session will provide specific strategies you can implement right away when handling difficult situations or influencing decision makers. Shift from nonproductive hindsight to proactive problem solving and get your team focused on constructive ideas and viable solutions in record time. This interactive session features short exercises and participatory activities that inform the concepts presented. Celebrate success and feel joy in all that you do. About the presenter:
Helen Kelly has worked in public libraries for many years holding a vast array of positions from Circulation Clerk to Children’s Librarian to CEO.  Helen has a passionate enthusiasm for the future of public libraries and is currently the CEO of Idea Exchange (Cambridge Public Library). Under her leadership, Idea Exchange was recognized as a 2017 Aon Best Small Medium Gold Level Canadian Employer. She is the recipient of the 2019 YWCA Cambridge Woman of Distinction Award for Public Service.
