The Kundalini Method
A Unique Approach to Mindfulness and Self-Care in Libraries
This webinar strives to generate an awareness of Kundalini Yoga. It will educate librarians on the therapeutic benefits of Kundalini Yoga practices. Examples of these practices include breath work, mantra, and meditation. Staff will learn what a pivotal role mindfulness practices, especially those specific to Kundalini, have in terms of maintaining a positive mindset and overall wellbeing.
Presented by Emily Stockdale
Emily Stockdale is in her final semester of the MSW program at The Ohio State University and will be graduating this August. This is her first semester interning with SEFLIN. Her passion for Kundalini yoga began years ago, around 2016, when she first took a class in Denver, Colorado. Emily immediately felt the benefits of what she now knows to be a very therapeutic form of yoga practice. A few years later Emily's mom became a certified Kundalini instructor and Emily began pursuing her masters in social work. Emily knew immediately that she wanted to share the benefits of Kundalini with clients and coworkers alike. Emily began researching the use of kundalini yoga interventions for anxiety, PTSD, substance use, and so much more. Emily also attended a Kundalini-based weekend training called "Yogic Science to Break Bad Habits and Addictive Behaviors" offered by an organization called SuperHealth. Kundalini has had an extremely positive impact on her life and she is so excited to be sharing it with you all.
