Reinventing the Library: UP skilling and retooling our economy through workforce development

The library has always been the place to congregate for the community to learn, develop skills, utilize resources, and engage with others. This communal institution has had many evolutions, none other than the last seeing more digitization of the library. The library is central in building communal equity, and an experience-laden approach can become its next evolutionary turn. Florida International University's Urban Potential Laboratories (UP Labs) is one way to refocus the library back to its origin days of "equity multiplier." UP Labs offers a 14-week upskilling program that revolutionizes workforce development by offering career pathways.
