Telehealth© 2023: Level-Setting Social Work’s Foundation for Practice

 

Abstract:

Technology has captivated the industry and changed the face of care delivery. Practitioners and patients can’t get enough of it, from digital devices, to innovative platforms and apps. Courtesy of the pandemic telehealth has become more norm than exception, though barriers to use continue. How up to speed are you on the legal, ethical, and practice parameters?

This presentation provides the nuts and bolts of telehealth practice, from foundational knowledge, key elements, and practices to alignment with established resources of guidance. Engage in an empowering, educational, and ethical experience.

 

Learning Objectives:

  1. Define telehealth and virtual practice
  2. Identify pros and cons of telehealth and virtual platforms for social workers
  3. Discuss state regulations on telehealth practice
  4. Explain evidence and outcomes on telehealth impact across populations
  5. Apply established resources of guidance to individual practice and setting
  6. Identify ethical conflicts for telehealth and social work and mitigation strategies
  7. Define key elements for effective telehealth practice

 

 

 

Upon completion of this course attendees will earn 6 Category I Contact Hours, including 6 Ethics Hours.

If a registrant cancels more than 10 days before the event, a refund will be issued by check or credit back to your credit card, minus a 10% administrative fee.

 

If cancelation occurs less than 10 days prior to the event, no refund will be issued but you may request a credit towards a future training to be used within 1 year of the cancelation date. Call the Chapter Office (804-204-1339) to cancel within 10 days of the training. A request for credit may be granted at the discretion of the Executive Director in case of a documented emergency.
