Alexander Battles, Head of Prime Finance Risk - Americas, Deutsche Bank
Alex Battles runs the Prime Finance and Listed Derivatives Risk team in the US for Deutsche Bank. Prime Finance offers leverage to asset managers and the risk group assesses client strategies to determine the appropriate margin regime and risk framework. Alex joined Deutsche Bank in 2014 from Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he managed similar teams in Hong Kong and London. Prior to his career in Prime Finance, Alex traded equity derivatives and started his career with an option trading firm on the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade. Alex majored in economics at Princeton University and earned an MBA from New York University.
Matthew Brennan, Director, BlackRock
Matthew Brennan, Director, is a member of the US iShares Global market team based in New York. The team seeks to protect and grow the trading of iShares funds by actively monitoring and improving the ETF ecosystem. Matt is primarily responsible for the market health and quality of iShares secondary trading which includes oversight of a proprietary market surveillance platform along with US market structure initiatives which are strengthened via partnerships with exchanges and liquidity providers.
Matt joined Blackrock in February 2015 from J.P. Morgan where he spent 4 years in the investment bank's credit risk team focusing on collateral risk management. Prior to that Matt spent 8 years as an Equity trader at Wall Street Access as part of the event driven arbitrage team.
Mr. Brennan earned a business degree from Springfield College in 2002.
Skander Ghorbal, Head of Quantitative Market-Making Group, Societe Generale Americas
Skander Ghorbal was appointed as Head of Quantitative Market-Making Group (QMM) of Societe Generale Americas, based in New York, effective June 2017. Prior to his current position, he was in charge of the EFT market-making desk of SG Americas since January 2016, desk that he joined in 2014 as a senior trader. Previously to his appointment in the US, Skander was part of the ETF trading desk within the Delta-One group in Societe Generale headquarters in Paris since 2008. Skander Ghorbal is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique in Paris (Palaiseau) and the Ecole Nationale de la Statisique et de l'Administration Economique (ENSAE). He also holds a master degree (DEA) from the University of Paris-7.
