A presentation highlighting current publishing news and trends with an eye on how these impact the role of nonfiction writers. This special webinar will also include an overview of the life of a book, from ideation through the proposal process, finding an agent, and working with sales, marketing, publicity, and sub-rights to connect with target audiences.

In her fourteen years at Random House, Porscha Burke has acquired works by Dr. Maya Angelou, Rev. Dr. Amy Butler, and Chief David O. Brown, and spearheaded new editions ofThe Autobiography of Malcolm X and The Black Book, originally edited by Toni Morrison. A Queens, New York native and University of Virginia graduate, Porscha received her MFA in Creative Nonfiction from Goucher College, where she currently teaches book proposal writing.
