Best Practices for Employers-Background Screening & Drug Testing


In recent years, numerous employers' background screening programs have come under attack in class action and single-plaintiff lawsuits. This session will provide practical tips for reducing the risks associated with conducting background screenings and allow employers to understand their responsibility under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and local jurisdictions.  This particular program will provide Missouri employers a clear understanding of the laws that they are confronted with, which will allow them to make informed hiring decisions within their organization. 


Learning Objectives:

  1. Employers will have an understanding of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and how it will affect them when making a hiring decision when conducting background checks
    1. Step-by-Step Adverse Action Procedures
    2. Step-by-Step Disclosures/Authorization Procedures
