Event Description

Wage & Hour Laws

As evidenced by the range of topics covered in AAIM’s Employment Law Series, employment and labor laws touch every aspect of your organization and it can be difficult to stay on top of every potential area of concern. In this course of the Employment Law Series, the following topics will be discussed:

Few things garner more attention than a paycheck. Employee-friendly statutes, the systemic nature of an employer’s pay practices that frequently magnify small, technical issues into overwhelming problems and the on-going debate concerning overtime exemptions frequently leave employers struggling with issues such as:
 • What is “compensable” work time?
 • Which employees are overtime exempt?
 • What wage deductions are proper?
 • When are workers independent contractors?
