Webinar Summary
We live in unprecedented times with the compounding challenges of population explosion, urbanization, climate change, greater awareness of new and emerging contaminants and a constant drive to do more with less. As a result, we are experiencing an unprecedented era of innovation and progression toward zero discharge, compact, energy efficient, resource recovery facilities. There has been a rapid emergence of new technologies in the global market place such as granular sludge, compact carbon capture and re-direction technologies, sidestream and mainstream de-ammonification, nutrient harvesting, membrane aerated biofilm processes and advanced biosolids management and energy recovery processes, that offer the opportunity for wastewater treatment optimization and improved opportunity to recovery energy, nutrients and high quality reuse water, while using less space, energy, manpower and resources. During this presentation, we will review some of these innovative technologies and the benefits they offer by examining some full-scale projects from around the globe.
