Creating A Safe Environment

Do you have a safety plan for your attendees, staff, volunteers, livestock and exhibits? This course helps you identify the degree of protection for your event, establishes how to foster a healthy environment for everyone, and identifies the players.

Keith Schroeder is from a small town in NW Kansas, raised on a family farm. He graduated from Grinnell High School in 1983. From there I went to North Central Kansas Area Vo-tech in Hays KS. to attend and graduate from the Carpentry and Cabinet making department in1984. Following graduation Keith worked in Hays KS. for a general contractor as a laborer building houses and worked his way up to being a construction superintendent. His responsibilities included commercial construction projects ranging from small office remodels, church remodels, and school additions to large Hospital additions. In 1997 he joined the team at an architectural firm in Hutchinson Ks. In 2004 he joined the staff at the Kansas State Fair as the Physical Plant Manager where he coordinated the completion of a $29 million master plan project.

During his tenure at the fair, he developed a great knowledge of the industry. His responsibilities included coordination of annual improvements and maintenance of the fair’s facility, participation in the day to day operations of the 10-day fair and the set- ups for 400+ non-fair events.

Keith is married and has a daughter, son in-law and two grandsons.
