The Disability and Preparedness Specialists Learning Community Kick-Off Meeting, hosted by the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) and the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), will gather specialists and their supervisors for two days, Monday, January 25 and Thursday, January 28, of important information regarding this new project.
During the meetings, participants will learn about the expectations, goals, objectives, and outcomes of the Addressing Needs of People with Disabilities in COVID-19 Preparedness Planning, Mitigation, and Recovery Efforts project. Collaboration across the learning community is critical to this project, so participants are encouraged to foster relationships across organizations throughout the meeting. On Monday, Jan. 25, the group will have the opportunity to connect with each other and relevant program staff and discuss the program activities. On Thursday, Jan. 28, participants will be introduced to relevant topics in disability, public health preparedness, and COVID-19. Additionally, specialists will learn about the required training modules. There will be opportunities for discussion and questions throughout the meeting.
